There's nothing like first hand experience to help us better understand a situation, and never more so than when it comes to gaining an insight on another place or culture. Reading the travel books, or listening to stories from others can paint a general picture, but when we actually go ourselves we step into a whole new dimension....we allow our hearts and minds to be expanded and challenged.
Not only can a trip be a rewarding personal experience, it is a fantastic way of being able to make a direct contribution into the lives of the children.
Bright Tomorrows trips generally have a practical bias and you may find yourself involved in tasks such as painting walls or fixing shelves. You might also have specific skills that can be utilised such as carpentry, nursing or car mechanics, to name just a few. There are plenty of opportunities for those who have experience in working with children, but most importantly, a willingness to get stuck in and a flexible attitude will go along way.
What people say.... “I had such a good time and I learnt so much.”
“ I was challenged by the fact that, despite their circumstances, the children were so cheerful.”
“I'm so glad went. I cadn't wait to go back next year.”
Trips

We no longer
offer places on our visits overseas unless we are close
friends or colleagues due to safety and child protection,
see below:
NB: Guidelines for those
working with children overseas on a short term trip
are contained in our child protection policy. All team

and will also be subject to a criminal records check
with the CRB, before being accepted onto a team.
